  Operated under the direction of a trained, competent staff, Camp Rothschild offers an array of exciting programs sure to delight our campers. Activities include archery, art, basketball, computers, canoeing, crafts, drama, music, nature, over-night sleep over, science, special events, sports, swimming and fishing. There is an on-site fully equipped playground with a sand exploration ship, large indoor play areas for rainy days, an on-site in-ground heated swimming pool and a basketball court. In addition, the campers enjoy weekly themed activities. This is what is planned for the summer of 2009:
Week 1: June 29–July 3
Holiday Parade Week
Four different international holidays in one parade. Chinese New Years, Cinco de Mayo, Columbus Day and our own 4th of July. Take Friday off for the real holiday (no camp July 3).
Week 2: July 5–July 10
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE
Don’t miss this week–long mission that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Bring your camo because you’re going to need it - treasure hunts, scavenger hunts and more!
Week 3: July 13–July 17
Lights, Camera, Action Week
This week features activities geared toward Hollywood and the BIG Screen!
• Learn new games
• Create awesome costumes,help create a set”
• Create your own videos
Yellow and Gold Groups – Field Trip Week 3
Week 4: July 20–July 24
Renaissance Fair Week
• Step back in time to the age of knights in armor and princesses in peril
• Try jousting, juggling, learn about the mysterious Tarot Cards
This week ends with a Renaissance Festival with performances, street musicians and merchants displaying their medieval wares.
Week 5: July 27–July 31
Olympic Week
• Create a theme with your team, make a float and join in the spirit parade
• Enjoy athletic and nonathletic events
• Make projects in the special art program
• Join in the torch lighting & closing ceremonies
Week 6: August 3-August 7
Carnival Week
• Play over 25 games on our ‘midway’, like mini-golf, sponge toss, water games, football toss and more
• Great prizes for everyone
• Create carnival ads, learn face-painting
Week 7: August 10-August 14
Circus Week
Boys and girls, children of all ages, get ready for the greatest in Syracuse!
• Create your own circus act using props and gags
• Huge circus day under our own Big Top
Week 8: August 17-August 21
School of Rock Week
• Tune up your instruments and get ready to rock!
• Bejewel yourself with beads and tie-dying fun
• Participate in our air guitar and disco dance contest
August 20
For Kindergarten and up (Red, Yellow, Gold groups). Bring your sleeping bag for a night of fun! Evening playground and swim times, make your own sundaes, then watch videos in your jammies until you fall asleep.
Week 9: August 24-August 28
Celebrate America Week
• Celebrate our country’s cultural diversity
• Learn folk songs from across the country
• Try your hand at regional crafts, sample different foods, make models of landmarks from across the US. Each room will feature a different region.
Week 10: August 31-September 4
Finale Week and Spacewalk
• Goodbye to summer with tons of fun activities
• Bounce around in the spacewalk
• Surprise events
• Counselor stunt show
